Block of the Month

Each month, a block pattern is posted on this page. Members make a block and turn it in at the meeting. The names of the members who made a block are entered into a drawing and the winner gets all the blocks for the month!

2018 Block of the Month

Our BOM Chair, Sheila Colvin, has chosen another fun and easy block for us again this year – Split Rail Fence.  The block design stays the same: the stable and contrasting colors will change each month.  The contrast color should be a solid or read as solid.

For March, make 4 green and yellow blocks according to the below directions, then sew them together to make the larger block shown in the picture.

  1. Cut strips 2-1/2” x 6-1/2” according to the colors of the month
  2. Sew the strips together with the single color strip in the middle
  3. Press all seams in one direction.
