This is another easy pattern with many variations. The first step is to make the four-patch that will “disappear.”
- Lay out four squares so that the two background squares are kitty corner from each other.
- Sew each pair of squares together.
- Press the seams to the side, towards the background fabric.
- Stitch the two pairs together to make the four-patch block.
- Then cut up the block and rearrange.
There are at least a dozen variations, but most of them involve cutting the block into four or nine segments. Wonky versions are popular among modern quilters. We will explore some of the variations from 10 to 11 am and then you can sew the version that speaks to you.
