- From V at neck to bottom – 27”
SUPPLY LIST
- 4 yds total of a variety of fabrics, it is recommended that you use homespun fabric, or other fabrics that fray easily, loose weaves
- 2 yds of flannel optional. Using flannel makes a warmer poncho
Price of pattern is $5.00
For this class you will need all the usual sewing equipment. This really doesn’t need an iron.
You will need:
- 4-1/2yds total of a variety of fabrics – homespun fabric is a good recommendation. I used a large variety of homespuns. You could use two fabrics, but I think that you’ll look like a walking checker board.
- 2 yds of flannel (optional). For the Florida not so cold weather I think that NO flannel is best. I used it and wish I hadn’t.
Pre-cut your fabric before class but DO NOT PREWASH YOUR FABRIC. You need a total of 180 – 5” squares to make the poncho. To gauge your fabric purchase on average you get 8 squares from 1 – 5” strip of fabric. SO…..if you purchase ½ yd of fabric you will get 24 squares, so will then need 8 different fabrics to make your poncho. ( 8 x 24 = 192 – 5” squares) Call me if you need help.
Blocks are 5” square
